“I am impressed with today's rice and stew being served here, and I urge the caterers to continue keeping up the quality. The future of our children depends on good health and proper nutrition,” he said.

The Mayor, who was accompanied by the Metropolitan Coordinating Director, Mr. Douglas N.K Annoful and the Sub-Metropolitan Director for  Okaikoi South, Mercy Yaa Odoi said the inspection formed part of efforts to monitor and sustain quality standards of the programme across the metropolis.

As part of the visit, Hon. Allotey also toured the Ministry of Health (MOH) Basic School at Korle Bu, where he interacted with pupils to ascertain whether they had eaten and satisfied with the meals provided.

He noted that his direct engagement with the children was necessary to receive first-hand feedback on the quality and impact of the meals.

He assured that the Assembly would continue to work with the Ghana School Feeding Secretariat and caterers to improve the programme in all beneficiary schools adding that investing in the welfare of school children was critical to nurturing a healthy and productive population for the future.
