The Statistics Department is a decentralised department within the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, mandated to produce, manage, and disseminate quality local-level data to support evidence-based decision-making. It promotes the use of statistics for planning, policy, and development while ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
The Department coordinates statistical activities across the metropolis, enhances revenue mobilisation through improved data systems, and fosters statistical literacy. The Department also serves as a central data repository of the Assembly and collaborates with institutions such as the Ghana Statistical Service and the general public to ensure informed governance.
