Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Hon Elizabeth Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, has inspected ongoing asphalt overlay on deteriorating road surfaces within the Ashiedu- Keteke Sub- Metropolitan District.
The roads which are currently receiving surface dressing include the Adedenkpo Road, Okomfo Saape Road, as well as the Agbon Kwatei Road
Speaking after the inspection, Hon Elizabeth Sackey charged the contractor to expedite work on the project to enhance both the movement of vehicles and economic activities in the community.
She assured that the asphalt overlay of some other 11 km roads in the metropolis would soon commence in earnest adding that the roads include the Fearon Road, Ocquaye Road, Bank Road, Bishop Lamaire and Nii Kwei Boadu Roads, Aku Omeiru and Mantse Kwao Streets, Korlegon Street, Obonu, Nii Danko as well as the Oshipi and Boame Streets.
She expressed the government's commitment to improving the road infrastructure in the metropolis and urged motorists to obey the speed limits and desist from speeding to prevent road crashes.
Some residents who interacted with the AMA boss lamented over the unavailability of speed ramps in the community and pleaded with her to assist them in that regard.
