A five-member delegation from the Accra Technical University (ATU), paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, to strengthen ties and renew collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).

Prof. Acakpovi who led the delegation explained that the visit was to congratulate the Mayor on his assumption of office and to rekindle the long-standing partnership between ATU and the AMA.

He said the university, by virtue of its location, had been a close partner to the Assembly in areas of applied research, infrastructure development, and community projects, adding that ATU regularly contributed to the Assembly’s committees and supported initiatives such as the Life Project.

He expressed optimism that the collaboration would flourish even more, producing innovative solutions to societal challenges and enhancing development in Accra.

He commended the Mayor for his leadership qualities, describing him as a leader with wisdom, courage, and the intellectual capacity to deliver on his mandate.

The Mayor who warmly welcomed the team, commended ATU for its continued collaboration with the Assembly, and assured the delegation of his commitment to deepen the partnership for the sustainable development of the city

He disclosed that a number of ATU students are either on attachment or doing their national service at the AMA, and expressed hope that the relationship would deepen to encourage the youth to pursue education.

The delegation included Mr. Frank Owusu Boateng, Director of Finance; Mr. Adu-Mensah, Acting Registrar; Mr. Daniel Larbi, Director of General Services; and Dr. Gokle Adibo, Head of Department for Network and Community Engagement.
