Deputy Local Gov't Minister to pay working visit to A.M.A Monday July 22

The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah is slated to commence a comprehensive working tour of the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) within the Greater Accra Region beginning with the Accra Metropolis on Monday July 22 2024.

During the visit, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah is expected to engage with the AMA management team and inspect ongoing and completed infrastructure projects under the ministry's initiatives.

The information about the visit was communicated in a letter from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, signed by the Chief Director, Amin Abdul-Rahaman. 

 The working visit aims to, among other things, ensure effective implementation and progress of local government projects, promoting transparency and accountability.

According to the Mayor of Accra, Hon Elizabeth Sackey, the AMA was eager to showcase the progress made in various infrastructural projects that are vital to the growth and well-being of residents . 

 "As the Mayor of Accra, I warmly welcome the Hon. Deputy Minister, Hon. Vincent Ekow Assafuah, on his scheduled working tour of the Greater Accra Region. This visit is a testament to the Ministry's commitment to fostering effective local governance and ensuring that development projects are executed efficiently and transparently. Our assembly is eager to showcase the progress made in various infrastructural projects that are vital to the growth and well-being of our communities," she said.

"The engagement with the Deputy Minister will provide an invaluable opportunity for us to discuss ongoing challenges and strategize on how to address them effectively. We look forward to presenting our accomplishments and highlighting areas where additional support and resources are needed,"she added. 

She was hopeful that insights and feedback from this visit would contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of the governance processes.
