The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah on Friday, received two pairs of Made-in-Ghana footwear from "Asantewaaba Kwame" a slippers manufacturing company in Accra.
The donation which forms part of the company's free footwear project for Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and government appointees is aimed at promoting made in ghana products.
The Mayor in a brief remark endorsed the footwear and urged Ghanaians to change their attitude and mindset towards locally manufactured goods and rally their support by purchasing goods and services made here in Ghana to promote economic development.
" I am pleased with the quality and creativity of these products and want to use this opportunity to urged all Ghanaians home and abroad to support young entrepreneurs in the country to succeed by patronising and promoting their products, this will help boost our local economy, " he said.
Noble Owusu Afoakwah, CEO of "Asantewaaba Kwame" expressed his appreciation to the Mayor for endorsing his product and promised to maintain high standards to ensure durable and comfortable footwears.
