The election, which was followed by popular acclamation, reflected strong unity and confidence among Assembly Members in his leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ziyad expressed his gratitude for the trust reposed in him. “I stand before you here today very humbled by the tasks that you have been able to achieve,” he said.

He acknowledged the support of traditional authorities and described the day as a defining moment in the Assembly’s journey. “Today is a very important day in the life of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly,” he remarked.

He pledged to work collaboratively with colleagues to elevate the Assembly’s national standing. “On behalf of the Assembly Members, I once again say that in togetherness, in unity, we are going to uphold the name Accra Metropolitan very high.

We are going to make Accra the beacon of hope for every municipal, every district, and every Metropolitan Assembly in Ghana,” he stated.

Hon. Ziyad also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the development agenda of the President and the government.

“On behalf of our Southern MMDAs too, we will not put the President to shame,” he assured.

He holds a Master’s degree in Development Communications from the African University College of Communications and a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Culture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where he also minored in Economics.

Since 2015, Ziyad has served as Assembly Member for the Amamomo Electoral Area, where he has championed sanitation improvement, literacy promotion, and youth-focused initiatives in communities like Old Fadama.
