A team of officials from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) has visited the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) as part of their ongoing Special Monitoring Exercise across Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).

During the visit, the monitoring team demanded photographic evidence to verify the completion status of projects funded under the Common Fund and emphasised the need for visual documentation to support the assessment of government-funded projects and ensure proper accountability.

The visit follows a directive issued by the DACF Administrator outlining the scope of the monitoring exercise, which includes inspection of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), evaluation of government-distributed pickups, review of 2024 Common Fund projects, assessment of District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) 7 projects and inspection of directly funded infrastructure among others.

The Special Monitoring Exercise, which runs from February 10 to February 28, 2024, is designed to strengthen oversight and ensure efficiency in the utilization of the DACF across the country.

We appreciate this monitoring exercise as it allows us to evaluate progress, address challenges, and realign our strategies to enhance project implementation”, he said.

He expressed gratitude to the DACF Secretariat for its unwavering support in ensuring the judicious use of the Common Fund.
