The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has presented plaques of appreciation to stakeholders who have supported the city in diverse ways towards the fight against the global COVID -19 pandemic.
The institutions are Hexagon company LTD, Duraplast company limited, J.K. company and investments, Permafix company Ltd, C. Woermann Company, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
The rest are Old Mutual Ghana, European Union (EU) delegation to Ghana, GCB Bank, World Vision International, the National Lotteries Authority City of Guangzhou in China and the City of Freiburg in Germany.
Presenting a plague of appreciation to the institutions, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, expressed the city's gratitude for their support towards containing the spread of the virus in the city.
"Despite the heavy toll the pandemic had on businesses these corporate institutions still thought it wise to contribute and support the Assembly to mitigate the spread of the virus in the city. It is for this reason why we want to acknowledge the generous contributions...," he said.
A representative from the Corporate Affairs Department of GCB Bank, Emmanuel Kojo Kwarteng who spoke on behalf of the institutions thanked the AMA for acknowledging their efforts and assured of continuous support towards the fight against the pandemic.
