Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei Sowah, has inspected the ongoing road construction works within Abossey Okai Spare parts market in Accra.

The Mayor who paid a working visit to the area on Wednesday was accompanied by the Coordinating Director, Mr. Ayeh Datey, and some officials of the Assembly.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far and reiterated   government's commitment to re-construct the bad road network in area.

"Late last year, the President toured the whole of Accra and when he came to Abossey Okai, spare parts dealers made their grievances known to him and he promised to tackle it. Here we are today to let them know that the promise is being fulfilled” he said.

According to him President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would not renege on the promise, he made to the spare parts dealers in connection with the roads in the area.

He noted that the re-construction of the sixteen kilometre road network in the area would go a long way to boost business in the market.

He urged traders not to display their goods on the streets after the works had been completed and appealed to them to cooperate with the contractor.

The Co-Chairman of Abossey Okai Spare parts Dealers Association, Siaw Ampadu thanked government for fulfilling their promise.

“We thank the President and all his representatives for fulfilling their promise to ensure that the road is constructed for us. It was one of our major grievance. We are happy that we at Abossey Okai have also had our share of the national cake” he said.
