Madam Anne Sophie Avè the French Ambassador to Ghana, has re-affirmed France readiness to support the city of Accra in its quest to develop lesser known sports.
Madam Anne Sophie Avè, said this on Tuesday when she paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah Chief Executive Officer of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in Accra.
She announced that France was willing to partner the AMA to construct a multipurpose sports complex in Accra to help unearth talents among the youth.
Mayor of Accra, stated that investing in sports would help sharpen the skills of the abundant raw talents, reduce unemployment, control surge of social vices and ultimately create wealth among the youth.
"We have prioritise sports because we believe it remains the easiest and the most convenient way of dealing with issues of unemployment in the city," he said.
He pledged his commitment to provide the needed support for the project to see the light of day.
The two also exchanged views on cooperation, economy and trade through sister city arrangements.
