Colombian Ambassador calls on Mayor Sowah; announces plan to train citizens in composting toilet


The Colombian Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Claudia Turbay Quintero, on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Mohammed Adjei Sowah, to strengthen and promote relations between the two countries.

 The two exchanged views on trade, business opportunities, transportation, energy as well as capacity building opportunities.

Madam Claudia revealed that her outfit would soon organise a two day training workshop to equip residents of the city with the technical know-how in the construction of composting toilet facilities to improve sanitation and promote health in the city.

She noted that under the Energy Support Program, communities in the city without power, would be connected to the national grid.

The Mayor of Accra who welcomed the Ambassador to the New City Hall, expressed the assembly’s commitment to improve relationship between Accra and Colombia in order to enhance socio-economic development between the two cities.

"There are many things Accra can actually learn from your country,” he said.

Mr Adjei Sowah commended the Colombian Ambassador’s office for the support and her leadership qualities.
