A delegation from the Ministry to Celebrities of the Church of Pentecost, led by its Chairman, Apostle Kingsley Addai, has called on the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, to extend fellowship and prayer while strengthening collaboration to advance shared values of leadership, service, and faith.
The delegation, including the National Coordinator, Pastor Michael Laryea Jr., called on the Mayor on Tuesday as part of their mission to provide spiritual support and guidance to people in public life, entertainment, and media.
Apostle Addai emphasised the church’s responsibility to extend fellowship and prayer to those in influential positions and assured the Mayor of the ministry’s support in his leadership journey.
Mayor Allotey, who was in the company of Hon. George Kpakpo Allotey and Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, MCEs of Ablekuma West and Korle Klottey Municipal Assemblies and Hon. Musah Ziyad, Presiding Member of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), in welcoming the delegation, expressed gratitude for their visit and prayers, noting that partnerships between civic leadership and faith-based organisations were vital for building stronger communities.
He reflected on the deeper meaning of life and leadership, stressing that material wealth alone does not guarantee fulfilment, adding, people often focus too much on money and possessions, forgetting that the true essence of life lies in spiritual grounding and the choices one makes.
He explained that instant gratification or the pursuit of money without purpose could never bring lasting satisfaction, adding that beyond basic needs like food and shelter, excess wealth often loses its value if not directed toward service to others.
The Mayor noted that the ultimate measure of leadership was not in wealth accumulation, but in the ability to serve people with integrity and humility, and stressed that true satisfaction comes not from material possessions, but from making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
The delegation also lifted prayers for the Mayor, asking for divine guidance and strength as he carries out his mandate to serve the people of Accra.
