Dear Mr. Mayor, I am wondering what sort of powers and obligation you have over the Grreater Accra Police Department. I am assuming it is a separate branch. I urge you to advocate for the Mayors of all Cities in Ghana to be able to appoint and fire the police chiefs. Also to effect policing you must intiate recruiting and training a police force from the communities that need policing. This is called affirmative action, indigenous people from the Greater Accra Region should form the majority and power brokers of the Greater Accra Police Department, same for all regions of Ghana. Keep up the fabulous job you're doing so far.

Ellen, I don't think the AMA takes the rankings seriously, otherwise there would not be an illegal tro-tro station with the accompanying filth, urine stench, nuisance to residents and other road users etc. in one of Accra's oldest residential area, AIRPORT RESIDENTIAL AREA. This is on the Ghana Home Loans end of the Nyaho Clinic Road. The AMA has paid no attention to the several calls by residents, including letters with pictures and all to the sub-metro and then to the Mayor himself. The rankings will only come with their demand for property rates, never mind what is going on in the area and that will be the end of it. Is there really hope for this city?

Augustine, in Accra we do not believe in naming roads, period. Roads with names are a ledacy from the Colonial era. The best we have done is to change the names of sone of these streets. You may be aware that there are about 50,000 Post Office Boxes serving the population of Accra of 2.3 million. AMA, previous Governments and the present one do not believe the dertimental effect this has on our economy. Unless the see money changing hands, they are incapable of costing this issue. One can go on ad infnitun so I rest my case.
